This privacy policy (the “Policy”) applies to Love Power Up, LLC (“Love Power Up,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”), developer of the Novel Crafter app (the “App,” “Service,” or “Services”).
As used in this Policy, “Personal Data” means any information that relates to, describes, or could be used to identify an individual, directly or indirectly.
Definitions: Throughout this Policy, “You” or “Your” means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable. “Company” refers to Love Power Up, LLC. “Usage Data” refers to data collected automatically, either generated by use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.
Applicability: This Policy applies to Personal Data that Love Power Up collects, uses, and discloses in connection with Novel Crafter, including: (i) data collected through the Services; (ii) novel projects, manuscript text, chapter drafts, chapter lists, plot ideas, outlines, character lists, character roles, location lists, story world information, story codex information, series information, writing preferences, prompts, review requests, comments, or other information You choose to submit or create; (iii) AI writing generations, AI-assisted plot ideas, AI-assisted chapter lists, AI-assisted character ideas, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, writing suggestions, generated text, history records, timestamps, and other outputs generated by the App; (iv) subscription status, purchase confirmation information, AI generation usage, weekly generation limit information, novel limit information, entitlement information, and related plan access data; (v) data related to export features and exported files, if such features are offered; (vi) data collected through improving, testing, and enhancing the App, including through anonymized and/or aggregated data as described in this Policy; (vii) data collected from customer support communications; and (viii) data collected from third-party sources where applicable. When You make purchases, We use third-party payment processors or app store platforms to collect and process payment information. Love Power Up does not store the credit card or payment information You provide, only confirmation that payment was made and related subscription or entitlement status.
Novel Crafter is primarily designed for text-based writing, planning, organizing, AI-assisted drafting, AI review, story development, and manuscript organization. If the App later supports file imports, manuscript uploads, image uploads, expanded export features, or other upload or file processing features, We may update this Policy or provide additional disclosures as appropriate.
Changes: We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal, regulatory, operational requirements, Our practices, and other factors. Please check this Privacy Policy periodically for updates. If any changes are unacceptable to You, You should cease using the Services. When required under applicable law, We will notify You of changes to this Privacy Policy.
While interacting with the Services, You may provide or We may collect certain information that could be used to contact or identify You, including:
The Service allows You to create, enter, store, organize, edit, and process novel-related materials, including story ideas, prompts, outlines, chapter drafts, manuscript text, chapter lists, character names, character descriptions, character roles, location descriptions, story world notes, story codex information, series information, genre preferences, writing preferences, AI review requests, comments, feedback requests, and other writing or project materials. These materials and any related information You submit or create are referred to in this Policy as “User Submissions.”
We collect and process User Submissions to provide the core functionality of the Service, including creating and managing novel projects, organizing characters and locations, maintaining chapters and story materials, generating AI-assisted plot ideas, generating chapter lists, generating character ideas, assisting with writing, providing AI review comments and beta-reader style feedback, saving project history, allowing characters or story information to be reused across a series where applicable, improving the user experience, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing the Service as described in this Policy.
You are responsible for the information You choose to submit. You should not submit highly sensitive personal information, confidential information, third-party private information, medical records, financial account numbers, legal documents, passwords, government identification numbers, emergency or crisis information, private information about real people without permission, copyrighted works You do not have permission to use, or any information You do not want processed by the App or its service providers.
The Service may generate outputs based on Your User Submissions and App functionality, including AI-assisted plot ideas, chapter lists, character ideas, story ideas, manuscript text, rewritten or expanded passages, writing suggestions, organizational suggestions, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, timestamps, history records, and related App outputs. These generated outputs may be stored to provide Your project history, allow You to view, edit, reuse, export, or continue prior work, support series-related functionality, improve the user experience, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the Service.
AI writing outputs, AI review comments, and beta-reader style feedback are generated by the Service using Your submitted writing materials, prompts, project information, app instructions, and related technical or usage data reasonably necessary to provide the requested functionality.
If You purchase a subscription or other paid feature, We may receive information from the applicable app store or payment processor, such as purchase confirmation, subscription status, renewal status, cancellation status, expiration status, product ID, transaction identifiers, country or region, price tier, and related entitlement information. We use this information to provide paid features, verify subscription access, manage entitlements, enforce plan limits, determine access to subscription tiers, respond to support requests, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Subscription or entitlement information may be used to determine access to features such as Premium, Ultimate, Yearly, or other subscription tiers; weekly AI generation allotments; novel limits; AI chapter writing; story codex features; plot architect features; beta-reader style feedback; priority AI writing; series sharing across books; export features; or other paid or premium features offered through the App.
Love Power Up does not store full credit card numbers or complete payment credentials. Payments are processed by third-party app store platforms or payment processors, such as Apple or Google, according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Usage Data may include information such as Your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, session activity, feature usage, number of novel projects, chapter activity, character and location feature usage, AI generation usage, weekly AI generation limits, weekly reset timing, whether an AI generation was requested or completed, subscription entitlement status, export attempts or export feature usage if offered, crash logs, diagnostics, and other technical or analytics data.
We use AI generation limit data to operate the App’s subscription and usage-limit functionality, including tracking how many AI generations You have used during a weekly period, determining whether additional AI generations are available under Your plan, enforcing plan limits, resetting weekly allotments, and providing subscription features. Weekly AI generation allotments may be subject to use-it-or-lose-it limits and may not roll over, depending on Your subscription terms.
If the App offers push notifications and You choose to enable them, We may collect and process notification tokens and related device information to send writing reminders, project reminders, updates, subscription-related notices, feature updates, or other App-related communications. You can disable push notifications through Your device settings.
Novel Crafter does not require You to submit medical records, financial account numbers, legal documents, government identification numbers, passwords, emergency information, highly sensitive personal information, confidential third-party information, private information about real people, or copyrighted works You do not have permission to use.
Because Novel Crafter is a creative writing tool, You may choose to include personal details, fictionalized details based on real people, private backstory, sensitive themes, unpublished manuscript content, or commercially sensitive writing materials in Your prompts, manuscripts, character descriptions, location descriptions, story notes, or review requests. You should avoid including sensitive personal information, confidential information, third-party private information, or materials You do not have the right to use unless You are comfortable having that information processed by the App and its service providers.
We may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
The Service may use automated systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, text generation, algorithms, or other automated technologies to process User Submissions and generate outputs, including AI-assisted plot ideas, chapter lists, character ideas, story ideas, manuscript text, rewritten or expanded passages, writing suggestions, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, project history, and related App functionality.
We may use anonymized and/or aggregated data, including User Submissions, generated outputs, usage patterns, timestamps, project information, AI generation usage, and related App data, to improve, test, evaluate, and enhance Our algorithms, models, systems, and Services. Such anonymized or aggregated data is intended not to identify You personally.
We do not intentionally use identifiable Personal Data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models without appropriate safeguards or as otherwise described in this Policy.
AI writing outputs, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, and related App outputs may be created using third-party AI service providers. Information processed by such providers may include Your User Submissions, prompts, manuscript text, project information, App instructions, and related technical or usage data reasonably necessary to provide the Services.
The Service is not intended to provide legal advice, copyright advice, publishing advice, literary agency advice, professional editing, plagiarism clearance, intellectual property clearance, originality verification, contractual advice, or any legally significant decision-making. AI writing outputs, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, and other App outputs are provided as writing assistance and creative support only and should not be treated as professional editorial, legal, publishing, copyright, intellectual property, or business advice.
We may share Your Personal Data in the following situations:
You are responsible for the User Submissions You provide through the Service. You should not submit information that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, infringing, invasive of privacy, confidential, highly sensitive, or otherwise inappropriate. You should not submit private information about another person without permission, and You should not submit third-party copyrighted books, scripts, manuscripts, characters, settings, or other protected materials unless You have the right to do so.
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Personal Data to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce Our legal agreements and policies.
User Submissions, novel projects, manuscript text, chapters, outlines, plot ideas, character lists, character roles, location lists, story codex information, story world information, series information, AI writing outputs, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, generated chapter lists, timestamps, subscription status, entitlement data, AI generation usage, weekly generation limit data, export records, and related outputs may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain Your project history, provide editing and export functionality, enforce subscription limits, improve the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce Our agreements and policies.
Novel projects, manuscripts, chapters, outlines, character information, location information, AI writing outputs, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, story codex data, series data, exported-file related data, and history records may be stored persistently for use within the App and related features, but may be deleted upon deletion of the App or account closure, subject to technical limitations, device behavior, backups, legal obligations, and anonymized or aggregated data uses described in this Policy. We do not guarantee permanent storage, backup, availability, or recoverability of any novel project, manuscript, chapter, character list, location list, AI output, review comment, exported file, history, or other content.
Anonymized and/or aggregated data may be retained and used for analytics, research, system improvement, algorithm improvement, AI-related evaluation, and Service improvement, where such data is not intended to identify You personally.
The Company will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when used to strengthen security or improve functionality, or where We are legally required to retain it longer.
Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in other places where the parties involved in processing are located. This means information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside Your state, province, country, or other jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those in Your jurisdiction. Some information, including account credentials, payment-related confirmation data, subscription status, or sensitive details You choose to submit in writing requests, manuscripts, or story materials, may be considered sensitive personal information depending on applicable law and context.
We use such information to provide the Service, create and manage novel projects, generate AI-assisted writing, plot ideas, character ideas, chapter lists, review comments, and beta-reader style feedback, maintain project history, manage subscription access and weekly AI generation limits, provide export functionality if offered, improve and secure the Service, process purchases through third-party payment processors or app stores, respond to requests, and comply with legal obligations.
California residents may have rights to know/access, delete, correct, and receive information about collection, use, disclosure, sharing, or sale of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions.
Love Power Up does not sell Your personal information, as defined under the CCPA. If in the future We sell or share Your personal information in a manner that requires an opt-out right, We will provide notice and a method to exercise that right.
We use sensitive personal information, if collected, for purposes reasonably necessary to provide the Service, create and manage novel projects, generate requested AI writing outputs, AI review comments, beta-reader style feedback, maintain App functionality, protect security, comply with law, and otherwise as permitted by applicable law.
To exercise access, data portability, deletion, correction, or applicable opt-out rights, You may submit a verifiable consumer request by email to contact@lovepowerup.com.
A verifiable consumer request must provide sufficient information that allows Us to reasonably verify Your identity or authority to make the request and describe Your request with enough detail for Us to understand, evaluate, and respond. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor's identity or authority.
We endeavor to respond to verifiable consumer requests within the time required by applicable law. If We require more time, We will inform You in writing of the extension period and reason. We do not charge a fee to process or respond to a verifiable consumer request unless permitted by applicable law.
